This is the perfect amount of time, just past the tipping point where one is able to do something else with his "week", but shy of the point that causes one to commit random violence. The 40 hour workweek is not designed for productivity; rather it's designed to inhibit opportunity.

And indeed did you notice the forced spirit of the minyans--how grateful and happy they constantly claim they are each and every day. similar to those who applaud their legislators, send them money for campaigns. How many people, during a work happy hour, ever say things like: Hey, everyone, what the fuck is this system?
ReplyDeleteThere is nothing wrong, of course, with free market work. Why it has become enslaving is not due to the free market businesses, but due to the state's control of money, which robs the purchasing power of the middle and lower class and which requires them to work more and more to support the state. Inflation, as measured properly, has increased 9% per year over the last decade, destroying the purchasing power of the consumer. We think of 2% inflation, but we think of the cost of food, gasoline, healthcare, beer, and we wonder if this inflation measure is leaving something our. Well, look, traditional money supply measures are not even disclosed any more. The statist matrix is the problem, witholding pay to give to the state. Many people don't seem to mind the minor amount of taxes taken from their paychecks. Fair enough. But the hidden tax is what is then done with the money. It is the hidden tax of the federal reserve debasing the currency to pay for the state's activities. If you take the 'unhidden' tax plus the hidden tax, you will realize more than half of your work is taken from you. The good news is this fiat system, like all fiat systems, will eventually collapse. If one has prepared oneself with hard assets, drinking water, sewer treatment, self defense, and food, one may then be in a position to enjoy the eventual course of the passing of the state.
