Sisu

35) Doggedness and perseverance in the face of adversity (sisu) is a most desirable characteristic.

36) You don't build up sisu by following the path of least resistance. Sisu can't be taught: It's something that develops over time by direct exposure to sisu-producing situations. It's best observed in the dead of winter. It's developed in the cold and matures in the snow and wind.

37) Rain, wind, and an eve of a weekend conspire to inspire he who possesses sisu character. He with sisu fears nothing and stares down death or rejection.

38) Rejection is slightly worse than death, of course, for there is less honor in it.
