The kernels of wisdom were offered to maximin before his great trip, but the kernals might as well have been for the author himself. Maximin does not need kernels, but maximin inspires kernels.
On traveling in general: It's the forced chaos, stupid. It's the unknown. It's the melting from an unpredictable cluster, into a great story of the experiences had. It's past and future always meeting, ignored or never disrupted by the present. It's the present being allowed to be the present, for it's own sake. Its no turning back, it's every decision makes a difference. Its everything that we want but don't know where to find.
On anxiety, to be anxious is to be human. No moment passes entirely anxious, yet many moments are met with anxiety. Everything in the future seems crazy; everything in the past can be explained and makes perfect sense. Trust is the key.
Great voyages are all around us, but we don't bother with them. Except when we are on a trip or a journey.
